GE Departure Clarifies Connecticut’s Options
Let’s Commit to Increasing Opportunity
Jan. 13 – As General Electric appears poised to leave Connecticut for Massachusetts after decades with its headquarters in Fairfield, the Yankee Institute issued the following statement:
“The people of Connecticut have three options,” said Carol Platt Liebau, president of the Yankee Institute. “We can continue to pretend nothing is wrong. We can wallow in despair. Or we can transform our policies so that they welcome employers and increase opportunity for everyone.”
The Hartford-based Yankee Institute for Public Policy works to transform Connecticut into a place where everyone is free to succeed.
