Planned Giving

 One Generation Plants the Trees...

Others Enjoy the Shade

The Yankee Institute for Public Policy invites you to consider joining its new planned giving program, the Damon and Phythias Society, named after two Connecticut friends who became heroes of the American Revolution.

Nathan Hale and Benjamin Tallmadge met as undergraduates at Yale and became such close friends they they were referred to as "Damon and Pythias" - ancient Greek heroes who were so willing to risk their lives for each other that a tyrant who had condemned one of them to death was moved to grant amnesty to both.

Dr. Lewis M. Andrews, executive director of the Yankee Institute said, "We named our planned giving society Damon and Phythias because we believe those individuals who include Yankee in their estate or charitable gift plans have elevated us to dear friends, much like the cherished friendship of Hale and Tallmadge."

Planned giving supports the Chinese saying, "One generation plants the trees...others enjoy the shade." This truism speaks to the importance of acting today to protect and preserve the traditions and ideals that benefit future generations. For more than two decades, the Yankee Institute has been ideas for better government. Your planned gift to Yankee will create and ensure a legacy of economic and personal freedom for years to come.

Including Yankee in your estate plans will reduce your tax liability and may even allow you to bequeath an even larger portion of your estate to the people and institutions that are near and dear to your heart.

If you would like to learn more about how you can include the Yankee Institute for Public Policy in your will or other charitable gift plan, please contact Mary Crean at:

Help us plant trees today to ensure that there is shade for generations to come.
